You Don't Always Have to Say "Yes"- Pushing Back: Done Right
We often encounter situations from our senior
leadership, colleagues, or even candidates for employment where we
may have to say "no". HR professionals serve as expert consultants.
It is our duty to be able to
"push back" when necessary. and to do it effectively is a
skill that is a tough one to master. We will explore how to master
the ability to "push back" and to say "no" when necessary
without confrontation. After participating in this session you will
learn: How to use "contracting" in our day to day
relationships; The importance of learning how to say "no"
to candidates; How to leverage confrontations into
consultations.

RECRUITING RESPECT: Getting
senior managers, hiring managers, and candidates to respect the role
of recruiting.
Recruiting and staffing excellence is achieved by building and
cultivating strategic relationships with various groups -
including senior management, colleagues, and candidates for
employment. However, striving to develop these essential
relationships often places the recruiting and staffing professional
in an internal customer service role. You will learn:
- Enhance your relationship building skills by learning how to
be "of service" to senior management and colleagues,
not "customer service."
- Learn how to ensure that important external constituencies,
such as candidates and vendors, are treated with respect and
dignity while at the same time expressing your needs, wants and
decisions.
- Discover how the strategic use of technology can empower you
to focus more on essential talent management issues, and less on
administrative tasks
Join Jeremy Eskenazi, and Brenley Brotman, Director of Executive
Recruitment for AT&T Wireless Services, to find out how to
develop these essential relationships and ensure your team is
"of service," to your organization; not customer service.

EFFECTIVE RECRUITMENT OUTSOURCING - Partnering With Search and Recruitment Firms
Often a decision is reached by an organization to outsource recruitment to
search firms. Using these resources can be a very frustrating and
costly experience unless search and recruitment firms act as your
partner, not your vendor. The presenter will explore the search firm
outsourcing process and alternatives to traditional retained and
contingency search including "preferred provider programs,"
buying research, outsourced Internet sourcing, and "un-bundled"
search. The presenter will help you understand the roles of hiring
manager, the internal HR pro/recruiter and the external search
professional. By the conclusion of the session, you will understand
the business and processes of retained and contingent search firms
and how to select the search professional that is right for you and
your organization's needs. You will also learn how to negotiate
terms and fees effectively and how to create a contract that
identifies joint accountabilities for success.

The future of "Talent Acquisition" and Recruitment
Over the past several years, the "talent
acquisition" / Recruiting profession has gone through quite
a bit... the significant economic expansion combined with the
demographics of the workforce combined to create a boom in the
recruiting environment... but, as the economy soured... the recruiting
environment crashed. However, the same workforce demographics (low
unemployment, aging populations, and educational issues) still play
havoc on the future ability for companies to be able to get and keep
the best talent.
In this lively briefing, noted Talent Acquisition expert,
Jeremy
Eskenazi, will share tales of what we have learned during the
"go-go" boom days of the "roaring 1990's" and
what's ahead in the future. Join Jeremy as he recalls his lively
experiences recruiting and staffing in the days of the "dot-com
boom", how he applied his grounded knowledge and resources from
his past corporate experiences, and what he's learned from his
successes and failures.
We'll discuss what's "in" and what's definitely "out" in the
recruiting and staffing environment and discuss how companies today
can prepare to be smarter, measured, and more aligned to their
business objectives when they re-start, re-build, and grow their
businesses as our economy continues down the slow-moving upward
path.

your current employer brand assets as well as your "employment
offer; Develop a cost/value proposition for investing in employer
branding initiatives; Partner effectively with your recruitment
communications/advertising agency in building the brand expressions.

WHO CARES ABOUT COST-PER-HIRE? USUALLY HR...AND THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
Some fresh ideas on staffing metrics and aligning with business leaders
Cost per hire, time to fill, etc. These are all the standard, "ho-hum" metrics that
of their success. But, let's face it... at the end of the
day...who really cares about these measures except the HR team? In this
interactive session, we will look at some new ways at looking at metrics
and measures of success in staffing and recruiting. The metrics that we
should be looking at and measuring should be only those that are aligned
directly to the business leaders whom we support and partner with...and we
should only measure what is important to the business leaders not just HR.
We will discuss metrics such as candidate quality, contracted time-to-fill,
staffing cost indexes, and service quality. We will also discuss the concept
of "contracting" and "service level agreements" in the
staffing arena.
